Re: Countries affected by Retrogression

Everyone will be affected initially. The countries with the sustained time out are Philippines, India, China, and Mexico.

And it goes by where you were born, not where you are currently living or are a resident of. What is listed on your birth certificate is the deciding factor.

Hi Suzanne,
I am an Australian citizen but born in the Philippines. Does that mean I am included in the retrogression?

.

If you were a Filipino citizen before then you are affected because your country of birth is Philippines. But if not, means that you were born in the Philippines but claimed Australian citizenship because your parents were Australian then you are not affected.

You are included under the retrogression because it is based on where you were born, not where you are currently a citizen of, or where you are currently residing.

The NAFTA TN Visa is available for you, but the green card is under retrogression. The NAFTA TN Visa is a temporary work permit for Canadian and Mexican passport holders only to work in the US. You can get one at the border with a Visa Screen Certificate and a valid job offer from an employer.

US immigration goes by what it actually on your birth certificate, not what your current nationality is. But as Anna has mentioned above, all nurses all over the world are currently affected by the retrogression.

Please take the time to do some reading here, there is much information that you need to have.
