connecticut RN jobs for new grad and foreign trained.

Hi! Everybody,
Could any one guide me? I am a foriegn trained nurse, preparing for RN licensure exam-Connecticut board, presently in the US on a J2 dependent visa with work permit. I am confident to clear the exam early.
How long does it take to get the results and licensure?
How do i go about in finding RN job in connecticut?
What is the scenario for new graduates, foriegn trained? salary? Since i dont have experience apart from graduation.
Thanks in advance.
Iceberg

Re: connecticut RN jobs for new grad and foreign trained.

Moved to the International forum as things do differ for foreign trained nurses and not many US nurses understand the process.

If your EAD allows you to work then you just approach employers regarding jobs, they may be hesitant as J2 visa is dependant on J1 so if anything happens with J1 then you will have to leave. Also currently no way for AOS if the plan is to stay in the US. Usually J1 requires you to leave for a minimum of 2 years once completed

Is also going to depend on where you trained as well. New grads always have a harder time now to get jobs when they trained out of the US.

This is for all over the US.

CT also has specific requirements that need to be completed before they will permit one to sit for the exam, not sure if you have approval already from them to sit for the exam.
