Any ideas?
Currently I have a CGFNS certificate, and because I am in the process of adjustment of status based on employment I am required to have a CGFNS visa screen. My question is if the CGFNS certificate is the same than the visa screen.
If anyone knows please let me know because I do not want to spent to much money in a visa screen that I probably do not need.

They are not the same and you are aware that if you filed July/Aug for AOS you should have had your VSC already and may have an impact as immigration have said if files not complete they will reject due to the high volume.

Good luck

Re: Cgfns

If you do ot already have a VSC in hand, you are not going to get your I-485 approved. USCIS has already come out with a statement that if the file is not complete, it is going to be denied. They are not going to be asking for additional required documents to be submitted as they have done in the past. It has been a well known fact that the VSC is required to submit the petitions. We are seeing attorneys not passing this information on, they get paid when they get the paperwork done and submitted; not based on its approval.

With over 300,000 petitions submitted in July alone for visas that do not exist, expect that you will not get approval if not 100% complete.
Not sure what else to tell you but you need to have a talk with your attorney. Even more so since you have not even started the process for the VSC, and that also requires the full set of the English exams with the speaking section, not just the requirement of the TOEFL basic exam.
