Ces problems

Hi to all members,
I am really facing a difficult problem with the cgfns especially in having my ces report. My status for the transcript validation form from nursing school is recieved but not reviewd since july 9 all the other requirements had met the CGFNS standards and I passed the english proficiency exam,so i am just waiting for this paper to be reviewed by them and till now nothing changed.I called them alot but thier is no answer, they always tell me that i should count 6 to 8 weeks after this paper was recieved in july 9.It is now 7 weeks and nothing happened and really i need the ces report to be finished before my visa status expire.I want to apply for NJ nursing board before october.
I am really confused and not knowing what happened.

Re: Ces problems

What visa status are you on? If it is expiring, then even getting the exam done will not benefit you if in the US now. There are no visas available for you to adjust to.

CGFNS does things at their own speed, and you can usually figure about two months from the time that they received the final item for your application before they will complete it. The English exams are not required to get the CES completed.

It still takes a couple of months to get the approval from NJ to sit for the NCLEX exam once they have received the CES, it is not instant with them either. You are not looking at anything being done immediately, and it is also a holiday next week so things will be delayed all over, many will start their holiday early on Friday and offices are closed on Monday throughout the US, it is a federal holiday then.

Re: Ces problems

Thx for yr reply suzanne,I am not looking for immediate things to be done,I am here on tourist visa but i applied last week for student F1 visa in order to stay legal in usa.
They recieved the last paper on july 9 so my report as u are saying will be done in september 9.The paper i am waiting to be reviewed is the clinical hours for mental and psychiatric training and they recieved it but i don't know why it should take 7 weeks to be reviewed.
Anyway,I faced many problems with CGFNS,U know suzanne you should call them and follow up your file regurarly or they will postpone you as long as they can.
Last question plz, shall i apply for the visa screen now or after passing the nclex?and are the papers used for the ces are the same for visa screen or i should get new transcripts from nursing school and pass through the whole process that i had already did??
Thx again for your time

CGFNS can be slow and although they may say give it x amount of weeks you still need to give them some time. They receive a huge amount of applications and someone has to check that you meet requirements so your file just joins a queue and you have to wait for it to be reviewed. Your documents for CES can be used for the visa screen but don't apply for it until you have passed the NCLEX as the VS account is only valid for 12 months and if for some reason you do not pass first time or any other delay then it bites into your account time.

Re: Ces problems

Do you actually have approval on the student visa? You normally have to leave the US to get it, it is not issued in the US. Do you have the funds to support yourself on the student visa? Remember that you cannot work right away with that, and then if you get special permission to do so, it is for a limited number of hours per week.

Not sure why the push to get things done for licensure at this time, what are you applying for?
