Any resources on compiling list of expectations for preceptors of newly hired nurses, especially new graduates? Lots of literature states preceptors need to know what is expected, but no one seems to know what that is. I have schedule, attitude, competency manual and a few others but want to cover all the bases. Thanks for your help.

How about PPG's, mandatory education, and risk management.

Thank you
I ordered a "kit" from hcPro called "The Nurse Preceptor Program Builder"
I don't remember how much it was. I did get some ideas from this and put a power point presentation together. It had a CD rom with it that you could print and modify check offs. I also put a Charge nurse /Team leader workshop together that we sent our first group through last week. The evaluations were good. I got the info from lots of different places. (lots from internet/videos etc) I didn't have any resources when I started 2.5 years ago either. It helps to have a great manager/director working with you. (which I have) Good luck and welcome
