interview on staff development

I want to ask nurse staff developers the following questions. I apreciate your participation to tell your experiance.
1.What is your philosophy of staff development?

2. Is your staff development centralized or decentralized or a combination of both?

3. Do the staff development personnel engage in performance appraisal or is that done elsewhere?

4. Who conduct performance review?

5. Are peer reviews used?

6. Do the outcomes of performance appraisal affect salary? Why or Why not?

Hi there...as to staff development, I think it is one of the most, if not the most, important aspects of nursing. Thats where u get people innovating, coming up with new ideas, and personal/professional growth. We all want to grow and develop and if we are stuck in an never ending routine of the same, it gets boring and uninspiring. Love to talk about this more. Lynne

How do you plan to use this information? Is it for a research project? If so, do you have approval from an IRB? Is it for a school paper? Are you going to use it to modify your own department's practice? etc. People who might respond have a right to know how you plan to use their responses.

I am an international grad nurse student joined emory this semister. As a part of my human resource development course I suppose to interview or discuss with collegues(nurses) on given points and came up with how are nurses and institutions doing to the discussion board. Probably. it is only me who use web to met other nurses on that position because i can't reach nurses easily and i can't do it with nurses in my country too , it may not fit with USA experiances. It is not for paper or reseach activities. What i am going to do is gather experiances form some of you and share with my classmate. Of course am not as active as others who realy talked and worked with the one who shared experiance since i can not explain further except what i gat here.
Hope i make my position clear. thanks for allowing me to tell you all why i am here.
