Computer Assisted Learning

Wondering if anyone can help me out. I am trying to offer different teaching/learning modalities in both the orientation of critical care nurses to ICU/CCU and continuing educational opportunities. Can anyone recommend good CD-ROM programs that could be used for this purpose? Perhaps some good programs of A&P, physical assessment, ECG interpretation, and other advanced skills.

Recommendations for good websites are also welcomed.

Thanks

Hey:

Have you looked at IMPULSE? It is a from a company called apex. They are based out of La and have a great product for EKG education.

Re: Computer Assisted Learning

I realize this is an old post, but just wanted to make sure you know about AACN's Essentials of Critical Care Orientation (ECCO) program. It's entirely online - costs about $300 per person with a set up fee of $2500. It is an extensive course - tailored to CCRN content. Several of our hospitals use ECCO on a regular basis for their Critical Care internship programs. ECCO for the didactic coupled with structured skills lab & clinical experiences. They love it.

Unfortunately, you have to purchase the whole program - cannot buy just individual modules. They also have a separate ECG program, but we haven't used it yet.

You can go to the AACN website for more info.
