What Degree Needed For Management?

I am getting an ADN and already have a B.S. In Business Management, but never worked as a manager. Would i be able to someday get into nurse management with those 2 degrees, or would I definitely need a BSN?

Re: What Degree Needed For Management?

It would definitely be to your advantage to get your BSN. While some hospitals will still hire a nurse with an ADN for a management position, the trend is toward requiring at least a BSN. While the other degree may help, it's not a nursing degree and not having at least a Bachelor's Degree in Nurising will count against you if you are applying to jobs for which there is competition. Of course, if you apply for jobs that nobody else wants, the employer will probably not be so demanding.

Get friendly with the management and you'll probably get promoted... don't and you probably never will...sad but true.
This is my conclusion after 15 years of nursing.
