Results Verification/Standing Orders/Protocols

Hello All,

I am writing this in an effort to find out if/what other facilities are doing to ensure that all tests/labs/procedures etc. results are communicated to the patient and documented in the record. I currently work as an internal consultant and am charged with making results verification work. It has been a difficult and time consuming process.

Does anyone have a documented results verification process?

Do you have standing orders/protocols that support such a process?

Thanks for the insight.

Re: Results Verification/Standing Orders/Protocols

We have standing orders/protocol approved by the general medical staff. It helps to cover low blood glucose and low potassium levels. We also have implemented sliding scale insulin protocols that many of the physicians use. Hope this helps.
