Please help setting up auditing tools

Hello,
I just took a job in a 120bed Nursing home facility. They have no audit tools in place for quality indicators and I am going to have to develop my own. I would greatly appreciate if someone would point my in the right direction to view examples of audit tools to help get me started. I am excited to have this opportunity of creating this project, but truth be told I am getting a little overwhelmed because I have no previous nursing home experience. I would greatly appreciate any help I can get. Thanks!!

Re: Please help setting up auditing tools

You should check with your MDS coordinator and you will find indicators required for all residents. You can set them up in an Excel spreadsheet and update and graph the data monthly. Your facility is probably not JCAHO accredited but you could go on their site at JCAHO.org and find information of they are looking for. They are also in the process of writing joint standards with CMS for Long Term Care facilities. Hope these help.
