Question NSQIP Clinical Nurse Reviewer

hey all

I've just started a new position at my hospital as the the Surgical Clinical Nurse Reviewer for the NSQIP program - it's brand new to us so I guess I'm going to be the hospital trailblazer!!!

do we have any other Allnurses nurses who have this position at their hospital? if so, how long have you been doing it and how is it going and are you enjoying it??

thanks
Mama

Re: NSQIP Clinical Nurse Reviewer

When you sign on the ACSNSQIP web page and then conference calls, if you read the minutes to the meeting you see all the nurses listed.

For those of you who don't now what ACS NSQIP, it is a program run by the American College of Surgeons for surgical quality improvement. It has been around in the VA system since the 1990's and fairly new to the private sector.

I have been working with this project since November. It is quite well organized. Have you completed your training?

I will probably here you on the conference calls, that are every Tuesday.

Re: NSQIP Clinical Nurse Reviewer

I was on vacation last week, sorry for the delayed response. Cycle 2, you are moving along. I had to complete my cases before the lock out period which was April 1st so I feel like I have a fresh start.
Phoebe, feel free to contact me offline.
Basically, whatever your quality improvement salaries are in your area. Usually it is less than the nursing salaries but you should be compensated for your overall experience. Alex
