I'm a new RN, who realized that I do not want to work in a hospital providing direct patient care. I started working on the floor, and it was miserable and not for me.
Through a contact I knew in the hospital, they came up with the idea of transferring me into Quality Assurance. This area always interested me, but I'm worried I don't have the right qualifications- no clinical work experience and no master's degree. (I do have a BSN and BS in health policy/business).
If accept this position, even without the qualifications, do you think I would still be able to perform up to par?
It is so difficult to find a first RN job not including direct patient care, and I feel like this may be my chance. I've tempted the idea of leaving nursing completely, esp. if I cannot find a job. (I'm also interested in working in drs office/outpatient surgery centers/etc).
Any comments/advice greatly appreciated
