Hi all...am wanting opinions/best practice thoughts. When dialyzing via a central line and the lines must be switched (ie: a/-v/v-a) what is the maximum blood pump speed used in your facilities? I was taught 300 ml/min but now the question arises that if the patient will get a better Kt/V with a higher pump speed should we increase it. We use the Fresenius K which monitors Kt/V online during treatment. The rationale back when I trained was that anything higher than 300 would just increase the recirculation too much. Thoughts please! Thanks.
