Hello, I was wondering how much is known about metabolic disorders in young kids these days.

I'm not that old myself, 16, but recently my neice has been diagnosed with a mystery illness, so far the doctors and specialists of Royal Brisbane Childrens Hospital are thinking its Mitochondrial Disease, but then again thats undiagnosed, her eye are fine?

She is 16 months old and jsut starting to jub up again after being fed via nasel gastric tube for the past few months.

Tomorrow she's getting a PEG inserted and because of her lack in sugars and something she is going to be a very risky patient.

Can anyone please give me a bit of information about what the think it might be? Or more information on PEG's?
It'd be muchly appriciated.

it can affect one organ, or many.
