I've had a few incedents with urinals:

I walked into the room of a very confused man who used his urinal and then set it on his bed side table. I hate it when people do that so I put it in the bathroom and told him to call when he needed it again. Came in later and the aid had taken him the urinal and it was sitting on the table full. I picked it up and dukmped it in the toliet. The man said " you littel prick! what did you do with my beer ?" the next time I walked in the aid had again left the urinal again and the man was chugging it down. YUCK!

Once went to dump a very full urinal and noticed something sticking out of the top. It was a terd, bobing in the urine. I dont know how that guy did that

It's not really gross in comparrison to the others yet depends which end your on.

I was working outpatient clinic and the doc was doing a PAP on a very obese woman. tipped the scale at 400. anyhow, one of the tricks of the trade with the speculum to hold some of the adipose in the vaginal cavity is to put a condom on the speculum, cut off the tip in order to view the cervix. Still with me? Ok, so we are in doing the exam and the vag light quits working, the doc instructed me to hold the speculum in place while he went to get another light. Somehow the patient repositioned and tipped the exam table over, so when the doc walks in, I am under the patient, my head resting nicely in her crotch. YUK!!!! Guess I over responded to protect the patient.

A nice littel old man in a wheel chair waved at one of my co-workers (a pretty littel 18 year-old, fresh out of high school sugar and spice type of girl). He said "honey come over here please" as she bent down to talk to him. He moved the blanket covering his legs and SPLAT! he ejaculated right in her face and mouth. Im hurting now so Im tossing in my 2 cents:
When I was a New Grad LPN fresh from the delusion of I can be the one to heal the world reality hit me like a ton of bricks.
In the ER where I had been a tech while I was in LPN school , I was hired to work as a LPN , First offical night of working I had the usual stuff, bumps, bruises , terminal earache, and the OMG GI Bleed from Hell.... Never in my life had I ever seen so much blood come out of every end in my life, this person was also a frequent flyer that the staff often betted on her ETOH levels, well after cleaning her up and stabilizing her with 2 other Rns and a tech, it was time for a foley.... Well a few things I noticed while placing the foley,
1. A remote control
2. corn nibblets
3. kleenex pieces
4. duct tape stuck to her buttocks
5. a tattoo that stated " I work hard for the money"
6. a credit / atm ticket
It took me by surprise and I can say with joy that I havent been fortunate enough to find such articles in that space so far KNOCKS ON WOOD
But yet Im still young.... And I work in the Operating room now !!!!
hows that for irony....

Oh my Gawd Ursula.....I laughed so hard I fell out of my chair and hit my head on the computer desk. When I am feeling a lil down and I need to lift my spirits I come to this site and crack up. My family look at me as if I have lost my mind wondering what could be so funny on a nursing BB...........

Not nearly as disgusting as some of these but this one just happened to me yesterday. Pt was vomiting, I was handing her a basin... she looks up at me and PROJECTILE vomits all over my entire bare arm. It would have been a direct shot, but somehow I jumped out of the way before it could hit my scrubs! EEEWWWW!!!!

Well as a NICU nurse we don't get to witness many of the lovely things that have been described...but I have one that not only is the grossest thing that has ever happened but also the thing that to this day gives me nightmares. So, if you decide to read on youv'e been warned

The NICU team was called by L&D for a 24 week gestation delivery. The woman had walked in with her bag bulging and the babies feet were included. Well the labor had gone to far to consider a C/S so the OB resident was going to deliver the baby vag. Well as we all stand there waiting to do our thing (the mother wanted everthing done) the mom pushes and the OB pulls, out came the baby and was put on the warmer. The baby looked very strange even took me and the Neo a second to figure out what was wrong, because it was so unbelivable....

The baby had been decapitated...all that we got was the body and the brain stem. The head had to be delivered by C/S. To this day I can not even imagine what those parents must have gone through. It was like being in a horror film. Needless to say I have never seen the OB resident again.

That is very sad. I am a bit curious though...what caused that?
