Weird experiments

A few years ago I was taking care of a 13 year old. He was in the PICU trying to win the battle over the worse case of sepsis I have ever seen. He had been on a vent and sedated for several days and was having a lot off trouble coming of the drugs. He heard voices and saw monsters across the room. During this same time one of our nurses was despirately trying to keep a badly disfigured poinsettia plant alive, that someone had given us for Christmas. It was now May. Anyway my patient in his confused state yelled across the PICU, "what kind of weird experiments are you doing to that plant? I've got to get out of this place before you get me." Needless to say the plant didn't live much longer.
