Re: Ways to Tell if someone is a Nurse

A nurse can say "I didn't recognise you out of bed and with clothes on" in public and not get in trouble.....all of the time.....

Get this - night shift, falling asleep while peeing, waking up to the sound of my snoring echoing loudly for the nurses' station entertainment...

Re: You know your're a nurse when....

Heres a few:
1. You believe every pt needs TLC: Thorazine, Lorazepam, and Compazine.
2. Your sense of humor gets more warped each year.
3. You believe that if warm wine enemas were routinely ordered, patient complaints would greatly decrease.
4.You have a tendency to laugh at your patient's "BIG" problems.
5. You believe the problem with the gene pool is that there is no lifeguard.
6. You've ever been telling work stories in a restaurant and had someone at another table throw up.
7. You believe all bleeding stops...eventually.
8. When called for orders, the MD says, "Write them yourself; you know the patient better than I do."
9. You refer to motorcyclists as organ donors.
10. You can eat a candy bar with one hand while performing digital stimulation with the other hand, and it doesn't bother you.
11. You believe the pain will go away when it stops hurting.
12. You have encouraged obnoxious patients to sign out AMA.
13. You believe the government should require a permit to reproduce.
14. You have a shrine in your home dedicated to the inventor of Haldol.

You're standing in line at the Wal-mart pharmacy when you notice the pharmacist has a really cool drug company pen that has a bone shape on the top. You then develop a plan on how you can get this really cool pen for yourself.... and succeed!

So, does that mean you can tell a nurse because you LOOK like one?
I'm actually a student. When I started working at a nursing home as a dietary aide everyone from the janitors to the nurses thought I was a nurse. I still have no clue as to why.

After taking micro I got obsessed with bacterial resistance. My kids lecture their grandmother, teachers, etc on overuse of hand sanitizer and antibiotics.

I go ballistic if my girls touch the inside of a sink garbage can in a public bathroom, or put a coat or bag on the floor while using one or touch the doorknob on the way out.
