My Birthday,so Can Post In This Forum, yeah???

July 21st. Happy Birthday to me! Here's my "short story." The day I was born, my dad was at the racetrack, drinking and betting the ponies. Finally, he shows up drunk, hears he has a daughter, and wants to name me after a horse he'd bet and won $300.00 on! Thank God, my mother for ONCE put her hoof down! The good news is, at least she was a filly (the horse, not my mom...she was a mare)! I don't even know what the hay this story means, but it's my birthday and my story! Good night all.

Well, thanks all. I had a great birthday! Dinner out courtesy of my kids, lots of great chocolates, and more. I've been trying to conjure up the name of that horse! My mom died 12 yrs. ago. She never forgot the horse's name and she loved to tell the story. I've been concentrating, but can't get her to talk to me. My dad is still living, but his brain is pickled. Nonetheless, he gets a chuckle whenever we discuss the story. He made up for it all when he took me to a real racetrack for my 13th birthday. I even got to go to the paddock to see the thoroughbreds up close! Great day, but in the end, it all managed to turn sour, because I was terrorized by his long drunk drive home. But for sure, I LOVED horses and will never forget that day!
