Prior to becoming a nurse I worked in a factory where I was unfortunate enough to lose a couple of fingers in a machining accident. Needless to say that with nurse's black humor my hand has been an endless source of entertainment.
One day after giving a suppository to a very upset and depressed lady with renal failure, she noticed me taking my glove off and commented on my lack of fingers. Quick as a flash I put a look of horror on my face and replied "oh my God.... back on your side!"
This put a smile on her face and brightened her day no end.
