Smile Best & Worst April Fool's Pranks

Best & Worst April Fool's Pranks

Early morning shift in A&E (ER) we got one of the nurses to lay in rehsus on a trolley and covered here like she was dead then sent in the student nurse to clean the body before sending it down to the morgue, the nurse had been holding a bag of frozen peas over her arm so it was cold. When she toched the arm that was hanging out of the covers the nurse sat up, the student nurse almost wet her knickers.

She saw the funny side later after a few choice F@@@ Bast@@@s

Oh my gosh! that is horrible.
NOt a nursing related one but, when I was a kid (april 1st) my mom called the neighbor and told him that a naked man was in his frount yard. A few mins later the neighbor ran out of his house in his bath robe, shot gun in hand.

Not nearly so horrid:

A couple years ago we got a call a little after midnight on 4/1 that the ER was sending us, "A 56 year old female for hematuria post TURP."

We began explaining that we had no empty beds.

One year the L&D staff paged a resident to a walk in precip. As the resident darted into the room they pulled the CPR baby out form between the "mom's" legs covered in taco sauce and turned towards the resident and dropped it. They were white as a ghost as the "baby" bounced across the floor and landed at their feet.
Another year I managed to get my hands on a drug rep gift. It was abour a 2 ft high skeleton that had been given by I think Celebrex. I swaddled it up and put in the lineup in Newborn Nursery before the residents and med students arrived for their morning rounds.

Re: Best & Worst April Fool's Pranks

Yesterday I saw my daughters MIL who I don't particularly like. I was just dying to do something mean but not evil for April Fools day. My SIL was the bunny in a fashion show and when she saw my daughter sitting on his lap for a photo she said "you know what happens when you sit on the bunnys lap", I said OMG Jean did she tell you she was pregnant again, I thought it was a secret". I thought she was going to pass out. It was priceless. Mean, maybe, but I sure enjoyed it. I could only have carried it off for April Fools and she walked right into it!

The cold bag of peas was a good touch for the first prank...I respect a prankster who thinks it through!

Yes we planned this for weeks to get the off duty right, so as we finished night shift the student was coming on day shift, and it was her last shift on this roataion.

Re: Best & Worst April Fool's Pranks

Nice planning

A prank I liked in an office setting was when a co-worker was able to take a "screenshot" of another person's computer desktop, and then made it the person's background on their computer. So when the person came in and tried to click on any of the icons and menus, it didn't work, because they were really clicking on a picture. Hope I explained that well enough...one of those things easier to see than describe! It was pretty funny to watch her figure out what had happened!

Re: Best & Worst April Fool's Pranks

I have been the recipient once by my DH, and he got me GOOD!!! About 2 weeks before our wedding, in April, he got me up on the 1st, to see the nerws. He told me the reception hall had a fire, was gutted, and was on the news. Well, they had our $, so I was off. He let me go on about 1/2 hour before he April Fooled me. He got me good, and I was so proud of him! And much relieved, of course...
