non-traditional nursing roles in military

Hey, I was just wondering if there were nursing positions in our military branches that work in non-traditional settings, such as rescue missions, special ops, or even humanitarian aid, etc? Thank you for the insight.

All the branches do humantarian missions. The AF does have a tiny amount of slots for nurses in their special operations branch at Hurlburt Air Field.

I can't really speak for the other branches.

Try doing on search for CCAT AF nurses and nurses in MOOTW (miltary operations other than war).

Hope this helps.

Re: non-traditional nursing roles in military

The navy does a lot of humanitarian missions. I'm deploying on one 28 May to southeast Asia. The Mercy (one of the 2 of our hospital ships) when on a humanitarian misson last summer; and the Comfort (the other hospital ship) is going on a humanitarian mission this summer to South America.
So as you can see we are doing at least one humanitarian mission a yr. (if not more).
