I was wondering for a while why is it that there are no nursing schools at the major military academies (Navy, Air Force, and Army)? If there were nursing schools there wouldn't it be easier for people interested in nursing and go there rather than going to a different school and then applying?

Your question makes me wonder if they have medical schools and veterinary, physical therapy, occupational therapy, radiology and so on...

You are right though, if someone wanted to go to a military acadamy to study nursing then it'd really help if they incorporated a nursing school into it.

There is military medical school. USUHS in Bethesda, MD...they also have graduate nursing school here too. For other schools you can get HPSP scholarship (including med school), and you go to a civilian school but military pays for schooling with a contract.

Military academies are usually more technical degrees (engineering, etc.). Even if you wanted to become a doctor you still need your bachelors (thats any program), and still are not guranteed unless you get into med school.

Plus don't forget the various schools that have ROTC programs. Many schools with nursing programs have ROTC programs for the different branches.
