I found the link on the Army Knowledge Online Web site. The story had a special meaning for me in several ways. I'm a USMC Veteran [1980-1988] & enjoyed reading about the Medic. However, I believe the service member was actually a Navy Corpsman, rather than a Medic. Nonetheless, it was an excellent story.
BTW, I hope some of you get the opportunity to view the HBO documentary; Baghdad ER. I believe it will be on the air starting today. I was able to see a pre-screening [in its entirety] last week at Madigan Army Medical Center. The documentary follows the day to day activities of the 86th Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad last year. Be advised, this show is authentic and real. An excellent depiction of what AMEDD Soldiers do on deployment assigned to a CSH in theater.
