Im mainly interested in AF experiences since I will be commissioned in AF shortly, but all branches of military are welcome to post. Any kind of experiences are appreciated. I know most other branches tend to have quicker promotion rates, which is a little disappointing. I was interested in how long it took most of you to reach 03, doesn't matter where you started at, if it was at 02 or 01. I know there was another similar thread about promotion timelines but it was focused on the ANC and I didn't know if I should muddle the original poster's thread with my question. If I should just add this to that thread let me know and I will delete this one.

With no prior nursing experience it will take you 4yrs to make Captain in the AF.

2Lt-1Lt=2yrs
1Lt-Capt=2yrs

PR, How much civilian RN time do you have? Your civilian RN time will also factor into how long it takes to become a Captain.

Ok, so you should get half credit towards rank for your 3yrs experience.

3yr civilian=1.5yrs towards rank in the AF

2Lt to 1Lt will take you 6mo
and then 2 more yrs to Capt

2.5 yrs to Capt not bad....
