Information on US Air Force critical care nursing

hello all...i am going to be entering nursing school in the fall and am beginning to think about exactly what field i want to go in after graduation. i am seriously considering to go into the air force. i have read some of the other threads and have heard people talk about a critical care course that you can go into once joining the air force, army, etc. my questions are 1. What is the course about? 2. Is it true that you can negotiate it into your contract? 3. If it is true how hard is it to get into? 4. How do you like being a nurse in the USAF and what exactly can I expect.

My father retired from the USCG and my brother is currently enlisted in the USAF so i am well aware that being in the military in general is not a piece of cake and requires dedication as well as passion. But neither one were in the medical field so im not sure what to expect in the medical field while serving in the military.

thanks!
Michelle
