My recruiter called me and told me that I was selected for the AF Nurse Corps! He told me I was the first name on the list of alternates to be called. One slot was opened up due to someone having an injury and being unable to fullfill their obligations. I wasn't expecting this at all! I am sooooooooooooo happy! Just wanted to share my good news with everyone!

Thanks! Yes, I guess patience does pay off. I go on Monday to sign for the loan repayment and the bonus, and I was told I will find out where I will be going in the next week or so. My head is in a whirlwind......my husband is in a shock state as well. He had accepted the fact that it was not going to happen and I would get my little ole job at the nearby hospital and that would be that. It is kind of funny to watch him pace and talk about everything that has to be done to get ready! Well anyhoo, I will keep everyone up to date on the latest as I find out. Oh, and I believe I will be going to COT in August.....I am sure I will find out soon!

Congrats, I too will be at COT in August, although I cannot for the life of me remember the exact date. Best of luck, and maybe I'll see you there!

Jitnee, are you going to NTP or are you already a nurse with experience? As far as COT goes, I don't have the specifics yet (no dates) but hopefully I will get all that very soon. Noticed you are from Indiana, so am I!

I am a senior in nursing school and graduate in May, so I do not have any nursing experience yet, I am however, still on active duty. I was accepted into a program that allowed me to stay on Active Duty and attend school full-time. I have been on active duty for 11 years. I am in Indiana because I was assigned to the ROTC unit at Notre Dame before I was accepted into the commissioning program, then I just decided to stay here so I did not have to move my family again.
