Red face husband & wifey in military?

So, my dh & i were both enlisted in the navy, & that's how we meet & fell in love. Sometimes i consider us both going back. I graduate this may from uofi so would go in as a nurse. & my dh, well i honestly feel that his perfect career is as a military man. bbbbuuuutttt, i don't want us to be on dif deployment schedules & i dont one to be deployed, the other stay home w/ the kids, & then tag team it, only to see each other a couple months out of the year. i knew a senior chief that did that. crazy!
i was just wondering what experiences you guys have had or seen in cases where both parents were in the military (particulary the navy).
THanks!!!!!
& God bless you for serving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
& for you folks that are considering the military----i don't think you'll ever regret the experience! at times it's a love-hate relationship but the memories you make, the places you see & the people you meet will make the ride well worth it! (can you tell i miss it a bit?)

Re: husband & wifey in military?

Having been active duty before you know that is possible, especially if you are both in different careers. My wife and I are both active duty and we're both nurses. Our senior explained it like this: their are 330 nurses at our hospital. At any given time 12 are deployed. It wouldn't make a lot of sense to 1) deploy us at the same time and totally screw up our family. 2) to deploy one and then deploy the other as soon as the one got back. With that being said it can still happen, needs of the Navy and all. Now that is with her and I both as nurses. Now if you are a nurse and he is something else, the gloves are off and the Navy could care. You people (nursing) and his people (whatever) do not talk to each other and therefore do not know what your deployment is and what his is. Again, you're prior so you should remember this. If you want to come back active duty, you and him will have to resolve that it "could" happen. Hate for you to come back for that to happen and you all be miserable, may be just one of you come back? That would solve a bunch of issues with deployments.
