The 30 Unit Option is mandated by the Board of Registered Nursing as an option for applicants who are licensed in California as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Applicants should receive objective counseling regarding this option and admission is on an individual basis.

Completion of this option makes the student eligible to apply for licensure by examination as a Registered Nurse in the State of California. The graduate of this option will not be considered a graduate of the College's Associate Degree Nursing Program and is ineligible to wear the Nursing Program's cap or pin. Also, other states in the United States may not recognize persons licensed under this option as registered nurses even though they may have passed the NCLEX-RN examination.

Admission Requirements For 30 Unit Option
1. Possession of a current California Vocational Nursing License.

2. Completion of Physiology 1 and Microbiology 1 prerequisite.

3. Completion of physical examination, immunization and laboratory tests required for students enrolled in the generic nursing program.

4. Professional liability insurance for students enrolled in a generic Registered Nursing Program.

5. CPR Certification for the health care provider which includes one (1) and two (2) person, adult, child and infant airway management information and competence.
