Hello Everyone,

I am contemplating going to nursing school and was wondering if the military is able to assist with the training.

I recently graduated with my B.A. in Communications and tried to find a job, but no luck. I am happily married and have a beautiful 15-month old daughter.

After I had my daughter, I discovered my passion for caring for others. I really want to get into nursing, but I already have $50,000 in student loan debt. My ex-husband was in the Air Force and I truly loved the military lifestyle, granted I was a civilian. My husband is very supportive and loves to travel, so it might be perfect for us.

My questions are:

1. Am I eligible for any type of assistance? I am 30...

2. I have not applied to nursing school, but I have a B.A. Are there any options for support while I am since I am not in nursing school yet? Does the military have their own training?

3. Obviously I do not want to be away from my family for any amount of time...is there a branch that will (really) not send me away from my family? I do not know if I could handle that.

4. I am contemplating the Navy and Air Force...which one do you recommend?

1. See if your school offers a ROTC program and if you are eligible for it.

2. There is no undergraduate RN training run by the military at this time.

3. NO. Don't even think about the military if you aren't willing to deploy. You can look into USPHS they don't have any real deployments, but offer the same benefits.

4. Neither if you aren't willing to deploy.
