hello, I was looking into either the Army or Navy nurse corps for after I finish my BSN, I was wondering if anyone had any pros/cons for the two. I have meetings with both and Army and Navy recruiter scheduled and I wanted to get a little info before so i would be more informed. I was checking out Military.com...(great site) but i figured that this was better to see the nurse corps aspect. Thanks in advance laura

It all depends on what you want, if you're the gung ho type go Army, and if you want more of balance I would recommend the Navy or Air Force. I am little biased being Air Force. The Army does have the longest deployment times though, but I do think they promote faster than the Navy or Air Force.

The Army is the only one that can offer you loan repayment $29,323. The Airforce and Navy do not have it. They all have a $15,000 sign on bonus. They all go to war(deploy) not always a bad thing for nurses. The Army has more way to get promoted and promotion is faster. The Army is the largest force so there are more opportunities for place to be stationed, training as well as advancement. Make sure that you are talking to a Healthcare Recruiter. If you can see their office from the street it is probably not the healthcare team.
