Air Force NICU/Critical Care Nurses,

I just started working at Children's Hospital in the NICU as a RN and I am also in the Air National Guard as a Critical Care Nurse (with the ICU identifier E). My plan is to work for a while to gain experience as a nurse then come back on active duty. I really want to be a NICU nurse in the Air Force! What are my chances that I will get that choice or will they force me into adult ICU or some other type of nursing with that E identifier? Also, does that increase my chances of deployment?

My other question is should I be vent trained first before I come in? Does Air Force NICU nurses work a lot with infants on vents and ECMO?
