AF and Navy... choice in duty stations?

From what I understand from reading previous posts, as a new AF nurse I would have a pretty good chance of getting my requested duty station starting out, and I would remain there approximately 4 years. After that, how much say do I have in where I would be stationed? I am pretty open-minded, but there are a couple of places I would like to avoid if possible.

In the Navy, I understand that I would start out at one of the big 3 hospitals and would have some say so as to which one. I believe that I saw someone else’s post that said after that you usually get a choice out of 3 or 4 duty stations to which you may go to. Is this accurate information?

I appreciate all who take the time to reply to my questions. Thank you!

You have a pretty good chance of getting one of your top 3 choices in the AF. Depending on your nursing speciality and how many places you want to avoid it might things difficult trying to get the assignment you want.
