Hi,

For those of you who own a home health or home care agency, how did you get clients? Did you have to talk to physicians and Case managers? What did you do? Thanks

Re: Referrals

I don't own an agency but have worked for several. I get business cards from my employers and hand them out to anyone I meet who might be interested in their services or who might be interested in employment with the agency. I think you should hire an RN to act as a liaison to the hospitals and other places that discharge people into home care and have her/him make contacts with these places and set up a system whereby the hospital refers home care eligible people to your agency. Even the hospitals that have their own home health depts. can be approached because sometimes they can not handle their caseloads and farm out some of their patients.
