Medical Claim Review Business

I am a LPN (15+ years) and have worked in various health care settings as either a nurse or office manager. I have a certificate in ICD-9, CPT coding and of course, billling. A couple of years ago, I thought of opening a medical claims review business, but never really got it off the ground. I am particularly interested in helping individuals by reviewing their medical bills and have helped several friends and family members recover $$$ d/t errors in billing, over charges, etc. I would love to network with others who are in this field and would GREATLY appeciate any advice on getting something like this started.

Re: Medical Claim Review Business

Daisy:

It sounds like you could market to physician offices with perhaps flyer's (just talking out loud here). I see the need and would love to see this take off for you.

I always suggest starting with a Business Plan. Check with your local Chamber of Commerce and see what offerings they can suggest for a new business starting out. When you write a Business Plan, with support of counselors who are in Business, they will go through Planning, Feasibility, and Marketing.

Good luck to you and let us know what you find out and how you are doing.

There are Nurses across the country, making the road smoother for the revolution in Health Care of Nurse Entrepreneurs.
