Peds vs Adult traveling

I am a new grad...I am interviewing for a pediatric position tomorrow, but a year from now I would like to take the opportunity to travel.
Some have suggested that there would be more opportunities to travel with an adult background.
I would be interested to know what some of you have experienced.
Also, just for further info...down the road I see myself working in ICU-peds or adult would be fine.
Thank you all for any info you can provide.

There tends to be more job openings in Adult ICU than in PICU or peds. You can travel as a peds nurse, but there just might not be as many assignments to choose from. If you plan on working in Adult ICU as a traveler, you will need at least 1-2 years of Adult ICU experience before traveling.
