We're on our first assignment in WA and are starting to look for our next location. I hear so many different things/rumors...can anyone shed some light on the current highest paying locations? Specifically ICU/CCU/CVICU. I'm finding CA is paying around $1700/wk take home, are there any other locations that are paying 1800-2000 take home per week? Top pay is priority over location. Thanks in advance!

Take home pay is dependent on one's taxes, and each person has a different tax structure. So do not base things on that.
And also depends on the contract, the hours in the contract, and how expenses are being taken care and paid by the company.

Thanks for your response...I understand everyone's tax structure is different. I was just more or less asking what other posters are bringing home on average, in the highest paying states.

Hi!
I would like to know which city in WA you had your assignment. Did you enjoy working in WA? I have family there and would love to take an assignment in the summer. I'm currently a new grad so I have a few years to gain experience first.
Thanks!

CA has some of the highest taxes, so you can have close to 40% taken from your check each week.
It depends on if one is going tax exempt or what they have in deductions and how the agency is paying. There are so many variables added in that it is hard to state what take-home is on average here.
There are nurses that get their own housing and stay in places that I would not even consider and then their take-home is going to be higher as they just absorb the housing stipend, but then can get taxed on it afterwards.

HI! WA is great. Weather is perfect, 'though I hear just the summers are this wonderful...All in all Seattle and the surrounding areas are very friendly, quite a fun city with beautiful scenery and fun outdoor things to do. I would highly recommend it!
