Thinking about looking for a travel assignment in the Nashville area. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with the hospitals there. Staff nurse or traveler.......any info. is greatly appreciated.

I am currently on assignment in Nashville at Vanderbilt. I LOVE it here!!! If I wouldn't be going to grad school, I would renew my contract. The people here are very nice and supportive to the travelers. I haven't felt like I have been dumped on, as with other assignments. In fact, many of the staff want to start traveling at some point.

Nashville is also a very fun city. There is always some music event (and not just country music) going on. There are great restaurants and shopping. This week on one of my days off, I am going to the Belle Meade Plantation. This is a real, live working plantation!!

So, yes, I would encourage you to look into traveling to Nashville. The only drawback is the pay rates may be somewhat lower because it is in the south, where there are traditionally lower pay rates.

I'm currently in the Nashville area. Here with Trinity Healthcare Staffin Group. Town is great. Have been to the Opry 3 times now, and have seen NUMEROUS stars. I'm making as much as I was in Florida on my last assignment, and no hurricanes here, so I'm happy.

Could anyone one else post the travel company they are working with in Nashville, TN at Vanderbilt. My current company has contracts for peds but not critical care. Any advice greatly appreciated!
