Need advice--Is consulting nursing for me?

Hi everyone:
I have been offered a per diem position in the telehealth/24 nurse consulting dept of our local hospital. Would any of you be willing to tell me the top three "pro's" to this job and then the top 3 "con's" to this type of work? I am not sure this is the right area for me...any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Re: Need advice--Is consulting nursing for me?

Hi,
After 2.5 years, I recently left a nurse consulting job at a pharmaceutical company. Overall, it was very positive.
Pros: Not very strenuous, still get to communicate with patients, you can only take one call at a time as opposed to 6-7 patients at a time!
Cons: You're tied to a phone and can't move around much, you need strong phone assessment and call handeling skills (difficult to know whats going on over the phone), all of my calls were recorded and audited.
