Intellicare

Does anyone currently work for Intellicare? I have a telephonic interview scheduled with them this week. Also, has anyone been to their training center in St. Louis? Thanks in advance. Kim

I worked for Intellicare in the disease management division.....I trained in the St. Louis call center. I worked for 2 weeks in the call center then went remote at home. At the time I was told the triage nurses stayed working in the call center until they met the time metrics. So not sure if I can help you with the triage part of it.

Hi,
I currently work for Intellicare doing telephone triage. I LOVE the job, but there is a LOT to learn at first, so you have to relax and take it one call at a time. The company is very big and has a lot of clients, so it is hard to keep them all straight. I do not want to discourage you from taking the job, because as I said, I do love the actual work,but there are drawbacks. They really push doing a quality call in a little time. It can be very stressful at times.

Thanks Snapper for your reply. Can you tell me more about the training, hours for the 2 weeks, benefits, etc? Also, after your interview, how long before you heard back from them? Thanks for your help.

I had worked for a call center that decided to outsource to Intellicare, so we interviewed with Intellicare, and then were told within a couple days whether or not we would be offered a job. The first 2 weeks were 40 hours during the week with day time hours, and then after that we started the shifts we would be working. The first few days mainly consisted of company info, and then going through the Telephone triage process, listening to some live calls, and learning their system. We started taking our own calls when we were comfortable, with one of the trainers on a 2 way headset, so that they could listen in and offer suggestions. When the trainers finished, we were paired up with IM buddies for the first few weeks, so that we could message any questions to them. Once you make it through the first few calls, it seems much easier. I do not use Intellicare's health insurance, so I can not tell you much about that. I do like having a 401k. It is like most other nursing jobs....every other weekend and most holidays. The weekends and holidays are the times that are the busiest. Good luck with your decision! It may sound like it could be an easy job, but it is not....you have people on the other end of the phone relying on your good advise(think new moms and elderly that have a hard time hearing you), and your supervisor wanting you to do a call quickly and with great quality. It is not a perfect job because, but then if you find one that is, please let me know!!!! Take Care!!!

I have worked for Intellicare for a few years, after 5 years with a small private, nurse run company. Telephone triage is busy and can be really stressful, but in some ways it is very routine. We get a lot of vomiting, fever, falls, newborn calls. For adults they tend to be chest pain, and "what do you think this is?" Sometimes you just roll your eyes. Most callers are receptive to nursing advise be it home care, urgent care, ER or whatever, some won't talk to you no mater what you say. It's all in a days work. Intellicare is a large and rapidly growing company and it is always changing can be hard to take at times. But again no job is perfect. But this is one of the best availabe from my point of view

they just started training down here in fla. they are looking for 12 nurses is what the recruiter told me. I did have my phone interview but turned it down. I only wanted PT to supplement my income. I had to give her 4 days a week that I could be available in a certain time slot for a total of 24 hours. including weekends. they wouldnt give me a schedule until 2 weeks prior. the pay was $21 a hour plus shift diff. I just cant give that many days off a week when I work my other job. we already have our schedules through mid may and I like knowing whats going on. I was looking forward to doing something after the kids went to bed and dh was on shift but this would be more of a fulltime gig for me..

Hi,
I work the 24 hours per week. I have 2 standing days off per week. I work 2 days during the week, then every other weekend. This is my only job. I think the problem nurses who work 2 jobs have is HOLIDAYS. Intellicare requires So many holidays.
