Other than the obvious “privilege to work at home” benefit, what other types of benefits are offered thru these companies? Health insurance, paid time off, holiday pay, vacation, retirement, anything?

Re: Benefits

Not all telephone triage positions are at home - I work in a call center.

The advantage of this role for me is that I injured my back several years ago, and without this role, I wouldn't be working at all - for me they are a great way to use my expertise which would have been wasted on my retirement. It's been a godsend!

Re: Benefits

Benefits vary greatly from company to company. My hospital-based position offers insurance, dental, tuition reimbursement, vacation & sick leave, & 403-B matching funds, among a number of other benefits I'm sure I've left out. Check with a company for which you'd like to work & see if what they have to offer meets your needs.
