Why I LOVE allnurses.com

I love this site, because I learn something new everytime, I log on!!! I am like wow!!! For example today, I learned from Daytonite, how to print my own flashcards from the computer and I further learned from NESS2bNURSE of the flashcard making website itself. I can't believe learning could get any better than this and I am no geek .

What do you love about allnurses.com?

Re: Why I LOVE allnurses.com

I've learned so much from reading this website, too.

It's funny - when I started nursing school, a lot of nursing discussions were like Greek to me. But now, I can understand almost all of it. I'm always looking up meds and diseases as I read along. Allnurses has really pushed my knowledge and kept me reaching to the next level of understanding.

I also appreciate when people describe what a typical day on the job is like in their area of nursing. Very helpful.

Re: Why I LOVE allnurses.com

* This site is a good place to come to if you want your eyes "opened" to nursing...I have learned the good, the bad, the ugly, the funny, the....you name it, from this site...

* I like the fact that there is also a nursing student section, and "stickys" that have allowed me to add useful sites to my "favorites" so that I have additional resources when I am studying for my classes

* I like that there are state forums, which allow me to ask and find answers to questions, specifically geared towards New Yorkers

* I love reading and learning different nursing terms before I even start my nursing sequence, making me feel like I have a tiny advantage

* And I absolutely love that fact that when I first registered, with a simple research of the different threads, I found a lot of answers to my many questions before I even got to ask them

Re: Why I LOVE allnurses.com

This site means a lot to me also. I came on here scared that I didn't know what I was getting into, and other members, like Daytonite and Tweety, made me feel like I was born into the fold. For the first time in my life, me, a non-joiner, felt like I was in my element.

I hope to be able to return the favor one day by sharing the way these people have shared with us.

Re: Why I LOVE allnurses.com

I appreciate the knowledge I have gleaned along the way from allnurses that has helped everything related to nursing school and this profession not be a complete surprise!! I am an older student and have no healthcare background whatsoever, nor any healthcare workers in the family.

I have mentioned this site to my fellow students, but don't know that anyone's logged on. I always feel like I'm the biggest dork around and almost fell over a few weeks ago when someone in class said, "What's an NCLEX?"!!

I am constantly amazed at something I picked up from here that has helped immensely during my first 2 semesters of school.

I thank all of the students -- former and current, as well as the nurses, who give of their time and talents to bring along another generation to the field.

Thumbs up Re: Why I LOVE allnurses.com

I have lots of friends who are nursing students or working toward becoming a nursing student and I tell everyone of them about allnurses.com I found this site when I was looking for more information about nursing schools and I landed on a gold mine. Everything I could possibly want to know about becoming and being a nurse in any field is right here.

I come home and can't wait to check the new topics, I check it more than my email.

Its the first site on my "favorite" list.

This site is great.
