Re: What are the item(s) you need most for nursing school?

Book Stand!!! My husband built me a heavy duty table-top book stand after my jr. year in nursing school. My back and neck were killing me from stooping over my text books.

Re: What are the item(s) you need most for nursing school?

Hello! I have so enjoyed this thread and everyone's input! I start my ADN progran on January 11th. I made a list of many of your ideas and will begin purchasing/implementing them today!

Also. thanks to the thread on PDA's and your wonderful input, my husband bought me a Palm TX for Christma. The Palm TX is not as expensive as the Dell or Ipaq. It has wifi and Bluetooth. Per your recomendations, I downloaded Epocrates free software and Diagnasaurus. I will download more soon. I love my PDA. I use the alarms daily for various tasks personal and business. I use it to record information that I don't want to lose. I am very pleased with it. Thanks again everyone! Happy New Year!:Melody:

Things I couldn't live without were: A large desktop calendar-so you can see everything that is going on that month, small monthly calendar - to carry around with you, multi-color pens so you can write in a different color for each classes assignment on your calendar, PDA (is great so you don't have to lug lots of books to clinical...but not a necessity), good shoes - Merrell was the shoe that was the most comfortable for me, Saunders & HESI book- help to put things in simpler terms. We had to have lots of Change available to copy PRs/ teachers notes for class.

Re: What are the item(s) you need most for nursing school?

Hey Guys!!!

I was wondering which is better for a first semester BSN student:

a spiral notebook with detachable sheets for each subject (that means about 4 notebooks) or a binder so I can carry all my subjects all the time.

Why worry is that the binder will get too heavy and there wont be a necessity to carry all my subjects all the time OR carry each subject notebook when I need it although I'm scared I might need more than one at a time....AY!!!
