What is an AUC?

I am looking for part time work while in nursing school to help with the bills. My husband works but I dont want to be a drain on him and I want to be able to help out and feel like I am doing something. I found a part time job at the local hospital (which I think would be good to get my foot in the door at the hospital), the job is an AUC in the CCU dept. I assume that CCU is Critical Care Unit but what is AUC? It was under the nursing support section.

Re: What is an AUC?

It looks like it mat be a unit secretary position. Some of my fellow students have this position. It is giving then great exposure to the hospital setting, various labs and tests and doctor's orers. Sometimes the nurses will even grab them to help/see interesting proceedures.

Re: What is an AUC?

Methinks the "UC" part stands for unit coordinator. (eg, secretary, receptionist, etc)
