teaching proj bipap and ventilation

Can anybody point me in a direction to where to find some patient teaching info for weaning a pt from venilator during the night, to bipap during the day. Even on line I'm finding it difficult to find what I would be teaching them.

All I understand about bipap is it's a noninvasive form of ventilation that keeps the lungs at a certain pressure...but I honestly don't understand beyond that what I would teach a patient and what my goals would be other than remain breathing! The info that I'm finding is this is more a respiratory therapist job which doesn't help!

If there's another forum here that would be better to post this q please let me know

TIA

I think that I would start within the ICU in my own hospital, you may well find that they have lots of resources that have already been used and will definately have an idea of the level that you need to pitch your talk at.
