Summer Question

We register for summer class in two weeks an I am trying to decide what would serve me better--to take an online class towards my BSN (nutrition) or to just work as a tech PRN or do both? I will have my 7 and 9 year olds home with me and want to make sure I spend time with them as well. I wanted to pick up a 12 hr shift on the weekends. Will I have time for a class too--is nutrition pretty laid back?

Thanks guys!

Re: Summer Question

I took nutrition during a summer semester. I think it was an 8 or 10 week course, met twice a week in the evenings. I worked full-time as well. I didn't find it to be too taxing. I think that you'd be able to do it with your job and still have time for the kids. Good luck.

Thanks so much for the feedback! I am still thinking...HM!

Re: Summer Question

My nutrition course has online, open book tests and she gives us the test bank (the whole thing, like 600 questions) beforehand. I work 24 hrs/wk and have two other classes, and I have a 100 in nutrition right now. I think it's really interesting too, because you can apply every single thing you learn to yourself.

Re: Summer Question

My Nutrition course was online and a bit more difficult then the above posters' courses. However, I did well because I worked hard and learned the information. I also had 14 weeks as oppose to 8.

By the way, I think you can do both work and take the course. I will be in summer school taking an online patho class while working 2 jobs and taking care of two kids. It is not easy, but I managed to be successful last summer and plan to be successful again. GL.
