pediatric home health/hospice nurse

From any pediatric home health/hospice nurses: I would like to know what type education and training you would encourage to become a skilled pediatric and infant home health/hospice nurse. We are a rural area without any such nurses, and parents have to travel over any hour in any direction just to have feeding tubes reinserted, or assessments done. What do you suggest?

Re: pediatric home health/hospice nurse

I worked many years as a home health nurse in pedi, not hospice. Learned from other nurses how to insert g tubes and even trachs in a ltc facility for kids. Perhaps you could schedule time at the facility where the children now have to go and have someone there train a group of you?
