Greetings, everyone!
So I need to take both pathophysiology and pharmacology. What order would you recommend that I take these in, and which one do you think is more difficult?
Thanks!

I'm taking them together right now, but if you have a choice I'd take patho first. Then you'll understand the disease you're supposed to be treating with the meds.

You can do them together, it won't kill you. BUT that said, I agree, I'd do patho first, then it'll be easier to understand what the mechanism of action is and how it applies to the pathology.

Patho first without a doubt. We have to take Patho through the Biological Sciences Department its a 4000 level course, so its pretty difficult. It was more difficult than Pharm, however Pharm might have been more difficult had we not had Patho first. Have to understand HOW the drug works to really understand Pharm.

I was in this same dilemma last semester and asked a few friends who are R.N.s. Hands down they said to take Patho first for the reasons above - so you understand the disease in order to understand how the meds work. So I'm in Patho right now and will be in Pharm for the fall. I can already tell it was the right decision at only halfway through Patho.

Our school requires we take them together (we have 2 semesters of patho/pharm), and I enjoy taking them side by side. Reason being is that we go over the pathophysiology first and then talk about the pharmacology relating to that system.
But if your school requires you take one before the other, then I would recommend patho first -- you need to know how the body works and the pathophysiology of the body before understanding how the med's work in the body.
