My overall GPA is just below a 3.0. Do I have a chance of getting into an ADN program? The only thing I have going for me is the fact that I have all A's & B's in all of my science courses. I'm currently waiting on an acceptance/rejection letter and I'm worried and anxious. I do plan on applying to more schools. Any advice would be helpful.....thanks.

Well, what are the admissions criteria of the schools to which you've applied?

You wouldn't get in at any of the schools around me but some schools are less concerned about GPA than others.

Advice:

1. Contact the schools and research their criteria.
2. Take additional classes in order to raise your grades.
3. Find schools whose criteria are favorable to your profile.

Come move out here to AZ. Most community colleges here let any student in so as long as they have a B average in A&P and B's in the rest of their Nursing prerequs. The only catch is that they put you on a 2 year waiting list!

I was lucky enough to get in first try for 1 of 24 slots in a pool of about 70 with a GPA of 2.66 for my 4 pre-req's, but I had all A's & B's in the rest of the co-req's for the program and scored very well on the NLN, Good Luck!! just keep trying if it doesn't happen first time!

I saw that you are in Ga have you applied to a nursing school there??
If so which one?? I applied at Gordons school of nursing and i should hear something back from them at the end of this month. If this is the school you have applied to then i dont think you have to worry. PM me and i can give you some useful information about this school that i found out from asking questions. If this isnt the school tell me which one it is then maybe i can help you.
