Yes, these are called loan forgiveness plans. The biggest provider of them is the Federal Indian Health Service. There might be some information about this on the Native American Indian Nursing Forum (
http://allnurses.com/forums/f239/). Most of the organizations who have nursing forgiveness loans are either federal or state agencies. To find them either do an Internet search for "nursing loan forgiveness". Also search for them by your state. You can contact your state board of nursing, state nursing association or state hospital association to see if they have any information they can give you on this. With loan forgiveness, you are usually asked to sign a contract and promise to work for a specified number of years for that particular agency over which time your school loans are paid off by them. Another big provider of school tuition is the armed forces. A number of my classmates were reservists whose nursing education was paid for by Army.
