Nursing Constellation add-ons

Hi

For those of you that got the nursing constellation from skyscape, what add ons did you get? I know to get Tabers...but is that it? Do I need the nursing I.V. drug one..or any others...or is this good enough? I think you could actually spend waaaayh too much money if you bought everything under the recommended section ...too bad Taber's doesn't come with it...seems to be a money ploy.

It's really hard though, between this and just supplemental books in general to know where to best spend your money! I also found that Ackley's Nursing Diagnosis handbook in addition to the Saunders NCLEX ...but sheesh I could just buy out Border's nursing section

Alright, I really need to get to bed instead of finding more ways to spend money!

Re: Nursing Constellation add-ons

Taber's was the only add-on I bought in addition to the nursing constellation...but then again, I won't start NS for a couple weeks and don't yet know if any of the other programs would come in useful! I just opted for keeping the cost down initially, so I may still end up adding more programs.

Re: Nursing Constellation add-ons

I bought the "Liponcott's Manual of Nursing Practice" along with my constellation package....the book version is like an encyclopedia! But its got every procedure and in detail how to perform them, and lots and lots of colored pictures, i recommend it. And i also bought Tabor's.

Thanks! That one does look great...anyone know if the IV drug one would really be used? Doesn't sound like it, at least imm but just double checking.

Re: Nursing Constellation add-ons

Nursing Constellation is a package of programs, including Davis' Drug Guide, RN Notes, Nurse's Manual of Diagnostic & Lab Tests, a medical calculator and some other stuff. You can find it on skyscape.com.

I notice that the RN Notes has a section on nursing procedures. I'm wondering if that is enough, or is it really beneficial to buy the Liponcott's?

Liponcott's has many more procedures than RN Notes, and they go into more detail.

Thanks, Jamie. What PDA do you have? I'm debating between the Tungsten E2 and the Palm t/x.

I actually have the Cingular 8125 Pocket PC, so it doubles as my phone/PDA. I had considered many different PDA's before deciding, but i knew i wanted one that had Windows mobile, since im familiar with windows due to it being on my laptop, Palm runs on its own program, and its just to complicated for me.
